2010 Spotlight Players

Game 1 vs. Bristol Central: Spotlight Player....Matt Keene, Senior P. Matt pitched a great game vs. the #2 team in the state. In a 6-1 defeat, he allowed only 1 earned run in a defensive struggle. Bristol Central is a LL State Championship contender, and Matt did an excellent job of competing with one of the state's best teams. He was also facing Craig Lejeine, who will be playing Divison 1 baseball next year and posted a 7-1 record as a Junior for Bristol Central. Lejeine had a no hitter going into the seventh inning before being lifted for the 7th because of an early season high pitch count.

Game 2 vs. South Windsor: Spotlight Player...Zak Hughes, Senior 2B. Zak is a senior co-captain of the Fermi Falcons and a player who serves an important role. On this day, he came into the game late and knocked his first career Varsity hit in a disappointing loss to the Bobcats. Zak is postive, involved, and ready to perform at all times. It was a great performance to come off the bench on a cold day to produce a hit and play solid defense for the team.

Game 3 vs. RHAM: Spotlight Player...Trevor Breton, Junior P. In his first Varsity start Trevor beat one of the top teams in the CCC East to get the Falcons on the winning track. The most impressive part of this start was his stamina and willingness to take the ball in the 7th inning. Jeff showed grit and a good hard nosed play in the second inning by getting a hustle infield hit, then by running hard and clean in the baseline, making hard contact with RHAM secondbaseman Eric Anderson on a groundball. He was put out on the play, but it was a great hard nosed play during a tough game. Jeff has had a great season overall, showing consistent improvement at a new position and has consistently hit the ball hard and produced offensively throughout the season.

Game 11 vs. Hartford Public: Spotlight Player...Zach Sagan, Senior 1B. Sagan hit his first career Varsity Home Run, a two run shot to put the Falcons up 6-0.
